Significance of Tree

It's almost very special being that there's only one tree in this entire place, specifically a pomegranate tree. The tree is significant and it is a big symbol of their special friendship. They carved their names into the trunk to really establish that this tree is theirs, making it more significant to both of them than it had been before. Relationships are a huge part of Afghan culture and to see the bond Hassan and Amir have, despite their social status', makes it stronger and much more special.
